What is the family experience at La Selva?

It’s like coming with your very own tribe for a private backstage viewing of nature’s most secret performance.

Kids and grandparents are welcome at La Selva. Family memories to take away are unforgettable, like who spotted the most monkeys, or who swung like Tarzan the farthest, or what friends the kids made in the lounge while mom and dad napped peacefully in hammocks. Fishing for piranha, kayaking, and more are all part of this memorable family experience!

The rainforest is a place of marvel and wonder and as such it brings out the child in everyone: those incredibly deep longings you thought you lost about the newness of life

The lodge is every kid’s fantasy: a place to hike, swim, fish, row and generally fool around.

We have had kids as young as three months and groups of up to 15 at a time. We offer a special program for families with kids in which they will not only experience the wonders of the forest, but will also have lots of fun; Special activities for kids includes toys and games at the lodge, crayons for drawing pictures of their day, and play-dough to make the animals and critters they see in the forest like leaf-cutter ants, frogs, monkeys, and more.

Children also enjoy kayaking around the lagoon, swimming, fishing piranhas and much more. Parents can do all the activities with their kids or go in a separate group; they all will meet later for eating and besides the delicious food like special soups, we offer special meals for kids such as hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza. We also have snacks for children like popcorn, cookies, etc. Children and adults have lots of fun and get a lifetime learning experience.
