Selva Green
La Selva Green is the section of the website that we have chosen to inform you about our ecotourism projects and awards, certifications and affiliations. We know that if you are still on our site and reading this you have a genuine interest in what we do in this area so we will explain at some length our activities and concerns.
From the very beginning of our history we signed a contract with our indigenous neighbors from the community of Pilche whereby we would pay them a sum of money each month in exchange for the use of the land that bordered ours ,some 15,000 acres which we have held in trust these many years with the community, backed by its natural inclination not to admit colonists and its only occasional hunting (more on that later). It is a fact to nature preserve with two title holders. They leave the land pristine and we may walk through this pristine land wherever it crosses over into their territory also leaving the land pristine except for a trail.
From this humble beginning 20 years ago, La Selva has embarked on a journey of outreach and community service to Pilche and other communities along the Napo river as well as projects that directly aide the planet in the true spirit of ecotourism, as you shall see.
